Gabriel Iglesias is an American stand-up comedian and actor. Before starting his career in comedy, he worked for a cell phone company. He would later quit his job at the cell phone company, causing him to lose his house and car; however, he continued with his comedy career. In 2000, Iglesias appeared on All That, a sketch comedy show that aired on Nickelodeon.In 2006, Iglesias made it to the final eight on Last Comic Standing; however, he was disqualified for using a Blackberry to communicate with friends and family, something that was not permitted by the show. In 2007, Iglesias did the voices for an entire Mexican family in an episode of Family Guy. Later that year, Iglesias did the voices for a pair of characters on the Disney animated series The Emperor’s New School.In 2009, Comedy Central released the DVD of Iglesias’ show Gabriel Iglesias: I’m Not Fat…I’m Fluffy. The phrase “I’m not fat, I’m fluffy” is one of Iglesias’ trademark phrases. In 2011, Iglesias set out on a package tour entitled Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution, a stand-up showcase series, which Iglesias produces, and hosts. In 2012, Iglesias landed his biggest acting role to date. In the film Magic Mike, Iglesias plays the role of Tobias, a strip club DJ and a drug dealer. In 2009, Iglesias released his first and only album to date, We Luv Fluffy.In 2012, Iglesias was awarded the key to the city of El Paso, Texas, as well as the Beacon of H.O.P.E. Award from Operation H.O.P.E. 2013 sees Iglesias setting off on one of his biggest tours to date. Iglesias has a highly sought after three night run at the Terry Fator Theatre at Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, he sets out on a tour, performing at a number of highly prestigious theaters and colleges.
