Though it may seem like pop-punk sensations Good Charlotte rose to overnight success, the band actually started in 1996 and didn’t achieve fame until 2002’s The Young and the Hopeless. The band originally consisted of identical twin brothers Joel (on lead vocals and guitar) and Benji Madden (lead guitar and backing vocals), Paul Thomas on bass and Aaron Escolopio on drums. In 2001 Escolopio left the band and was replaced in 2003 with Chris Wilson, who kept the gig up until 2005, when Dean Butterworth stepped in. With this newest lineup Good Charlotte has really hit their stride, and now they’re on tour with Justin Timberlake to promote their latest album, 2007’s Good Morning Revival.
