What musical genre would you put GWAR in? Metal? Rock? How about “satirical thrash metal” or “comedy rock”? It’s not often that words used to describe a band include both “metal” and “comedy”, but then again, GWAR isn’t your standard metal band. GWAR’s concerts have become legendary due to their elaborate, bizarre costumes and themes. The band members lampoon politicians and celebrities while thumbing their noses at society’s taboos and spraying the audience with “imitation fluids” (mostly made of water and powdered food coloring). A ticket to a GWAR concert ensures an evening of entertainment. You may be shocked, you may be appalled, but you definitely won’t be bored!
