Panic! At The Disco History

From the suburbs of Las Vegas comes one of the most electrifying post-rock bands to hit the stage in recent years. Noted for their youthful appearance and intriguing song titles, Panic! at the Disco combine elements of jittery electronica, disjointed strings and chaotic guitar distortions into a powerful and coherent post-punk sound. Releasing their debut platinum album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out in 2005, P!ATD have already achieved tremendous cult and commercial success with award-winning videos and popular US and European tours. Find tickets to see Panic! at the Disco for an exciting, cutting edge and alarmingly entertaining rock experience.

Panic! at the Disco began when old friends Ryan Ross (guitars) and Spencer Smith (drums) began to jam out their punk favorites together in Summerlin, Las Vegas, in the early 21st century. The later addition of bassist Brent Wilson and vocalist Brendon Urie formalized the line-up, while the instant and widespread appreciation for P!ATD’s online demos led Fall Out Boy Pete Wentz to sign them to his label Decaydance in 2005. Instant popular feedback from radio airplay and an MTV VMA winning video made “I Write Sins Not Tragedies” one of the major hit singles of 2006. Mid-way through 2006 Brent Wilson left the band in difficult circumstances to be replaced by Jon Walker.

Celebrated among contemporary guitar rockers not only for their young age and quirky appearance, Panic! at the Disco provide a freshly keen, solid and witty approach to hardcore modern rock. Song titles such as “The Only Difference Between Martyrdom and Suicide is Press Coverage” and “Build God, Then We’ll Talk” are good illustrations of the post-modern playfulness of P!ATD lyrics. From the pulsating house beats of “The Only Difference” to the unsettling pizzicato of “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” the heady, powerful vocals of Brendon Urie unite an irrational and choppy collection of sounds into a spirited and diverse rock performance that should not be missed.
