The Meadows Music & Arts Festival is a yearly music festival held at Citi Field in Queens, New York City. The festival was produced by Founders Entertainment, which also produces the Governors Ball Music Festival. The inaugural year of the festival, which was held on October 1-2, 2016, was headlined by several artists, including Kanye West, J.Cole, Kygo, and Chance the Rapper. The festival boasted 42 artists and four stages: Linden Blvd., Queens Blvd., Shea, and The Meadows. The festival was inspired by the cancellation of Kanye West's set during the Sunday of the 2016 Governors Ball Music Festival due to heavy rains. It was announced on March 20, 2017, that the festival would return September 15-17, 2017. After a strong first year, the festival is heading back to New York City and adding an extra day.
After a victorious inaugural year in 2016 — with headliners like Kanye West, J. Cole and Chance the Rapper — the Meadows music and arts festival is back in 2017. This year, organizers have added an extra day, with more music and more everything. The festival is also moving up a month, shifting to September from last year's October date. The three-day festival will take place Sept. 15-17 at Citi Field in Queens, New York. This year, Jay-Z, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Gorillaz top the lineup. Other highlights include Future, Weezer, Nas, Run the Jewels, M.I.A., Erykah Badu, Migos, TV on the Radio, Joey Bada$$, 21 Savage, Sleigh Bells, Broods, Lizzo, Jacob Banks, and many more will perform as well, and the whole thing will be live-streamed on TIDAL if you can't make it.
Tickets go on sale May 10 at noon EST.
Citi Field also makes for a unique New York City musical environment, converting from its usual baseball-friendly setup into a full-fledged festival venue.
